South from Tillamook to Bandon

We went back to see the cheese factory, and it was really hard to photograph inside. Actually, both of us failed to set the white balance to "inside light".
The cheese was sure yellow. We bought some for ourselves and persons we visited.
First view of the coast after Tillamook.
I guess there is no leash law on the Oregon coast.
And off we go.  The seascape to the right was about an hour and fifty minutes down the coast.  And just then, . . .
A pleasant chap in a tourist information station told us not to stay in Tillamook because it was a cheese processing city and the odorous smell of cows grazing in the pasture would be disturbing. As you see from the map above, we would have had to drive a way to any town beyond, so we took a chance and found a place in Tillamook. He was right about the cheese factory, but town smelled just fine.
Notice the man on the left of picture, and his dog on the right.
. . this gorgeous bridge emerged in view. Both Elaine and I remember it, but we haven't a clue where it is on the map of the coast.

The Tsunami sign was photographed in

Newport, Oregon (map above) where spent the next hour or so.
Our next stop was Newport, about an hour's drive from that bridge. We spend quite a bit of time at the Oregon State University Hatfield Marine center, pictured above.
Hard to get good pictures, but here are a few.
Left, the bridge that carries highway 101 to South Beach. Above, a lighthouse which is north of that bridge.
The lighthouse is atop this house -- not sure what the metal structure to the left is. But I photographed it as you can see.

About an hour's drive down the coast, this spectacular scene presented itself looking back up the coast. Note the red lighthouse way to the left, and also the red house to its right. Both these scenes are pictured in the two pictures below.
Lookit all those birds on the rock. I even caught one in flight .

Finally, we cross this bridge just before Coos Bay and a few

miles brings us to Bandon, home of  Bob and Rusty  Bushman.
Bob was a fellow professor at SUNY at Buffalo, and they both had brilliantly red hair. A little gray now, but one still sees the red.

After dinner, we were driven around to see some of the
